Influenced by Gretchen Peters, Rodney Crowell and Bruce Springsteen in the US and Chris Wood, Boo Hewerdine and Martyn Joseph in the UK, Johnny's music is a mixture of Americana, Contemporary Folk and Singer/Songwriter with a sense of story.
Johnny is a multi-instrumentalist and plays solo or with his band JOHNNYSTEINBERG AND THE BLUE FISH. Johnny's wry sense of humour and his interest in ordinary people with extraordinary lives comes through in his recordings and live shows

There have been some excellent new Americana releases dropping through my letterbox and into my CD player these past few months. Shadowland by Johnny Steinberg is no exception.
Outstanding songs, exquisitely well-played and beautifully sung this album radiates such class that I’m still getting my head around the fact it’s a debut album.
